Franklin Templeton launches energy transition fund in Singapore

Franklin Templeton has launched an equity fund in Singapore to meet investors’ demand for exposure to companies and technologies associated with energy transition.

The Franklin K2 Electron Global Ucits fund seeks to achieve an absolute return by investing in equity and equity-related securities of companies in infrastructure and global utility sectors.

These companies are located in North America, Europe, Asia Pacific and, to a lesser extent, Latin America (including emerging markets).

The fund may take long and/or synthetic short positions in relation to these equity securities, Franklin Templeton said.

This Ucits fund is a liquid alternatives strategy managed by K2 Advisors, one of Franklin Templeton’s specialist investment managers, and is sub-advised by Electron Capital Partners, a New York-based investment adviser.

The fund’s investment team has extensive experience, with close to 20 years of investing in the sectors and companies associated with energy transition.
